The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for aiding the direction of the Production team to achieve service cost and revenue goals as well as the development of best-in-class processes to drive improvement. He or she will work across functional boundaries to ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction relative to service cost and revenue goals. The Assistant Production Manager will work in collaboration with the Production Manager Engineering and Quality Contracting and Finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide their internal customers with correct products and services on time.
- Create communicate and accomplish daily department schedules.
- Keep WOs and associated documentation with each part throughout the manufacturing process and provide documentation to their internal customer.
- Retain part traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
- Keep Cetec order location data current and correct.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. To include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Develop and maintain a high-performance culture in the functions resulting in continued success meeting functional KPIs and improved levels of customer service to interior and exterior customers.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Report to management the measurable status of progress and corrective actions as it pertains to production performance.
- Ensure performance improvement and recovery plans are developed issued tracked and reported on as required for production improvement.
- Manage production flow to ensure production is maintained to the optimum level to support on time customer deliveries while keeping inventory holdings at the appropriate levels.
- Lead the production team within the scope of the strategic process to drive cost out of the process/product.
- Collaborate with executive-level management in the development of performance goals and long-term operational strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
- Work closely with human resources to lead team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting inclusive and productive environment.
- Cover all duties of the Production Manager in the event of their absence.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3 years experience in management of production floor employees
- 3 years experience in metal forming processes and production.
- High level comprehension of Enterprise Management Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm with overtime required. Monday through Friday. Onsite only.
70-85k annually dependent upon experience
Background and Drug test required.
