The Executive Director is responsible for the effective operation of Surgical Services at UnityPoint Health Des Moines.
As a member of the UnityPoint Health Des Moines operations team the Executive Director will lead the assigned service line and the teams commitment to quality service growth and fiscal accountability and will be held accountable for the accomplishment of the results as indicated in the annual strategic plan. The Executive Director creates a vision and strategic direction for the service lines which supports the mission vision values and strategic plan of UPH-DM.
With the support of the administrative team and the strategic plan the Executive Director assumes responsibility for the creation development and implementation of new programs; seeking avenues of growth and new opportunities; guides the development of a patient centered service which sets the standards in quality service and cost. As the expert in the business of the service line serves as an excellent resource and representative for the service line among health care providers partners and students affiliated with the system.
The Executive Director promotes an environment which encourages team members to gain new skills that advance the service line as well as themselves and provides an environment that promotes trust and decision-making at the staff level.

Education: Masters degree or commiserate experience in a related field.
Experience: Five years of progressively more responsible management positions within surgical services in hospital outpatient or clinical environment. Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships with physicians management and community. Excellent performance improvement results. Experience as an excellent communicator manager and developer of people and programs.
