Starting Point: Muskegon with travel to the Holland Center and participants homes in Newaygo Muskegon Ottawa and Allegan counties
What Youll Do in This Role:
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our day centers clinics offices and at times participants homes. Responsibilities include general upkeep such as plumbing lighting doors and furnitureas well as maintaining safety systems like fire extinguishers and emergency exits. This position also involves troubleshooting and servicing assistive equipment (e.g. walkers wheelchairs and power chairs) and performing minor accessibility upgrades in participants homes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Core Facility Maintenance
Perform general repairs and preventive maintenance at day centers clinics and office facilities
Troubleshoot and repair issues including:
Plumbing (leaks clogged drains running toilets)
Lighting and electrical fixtures
Doors (hinges locks closers) and furniture (chairs tables desks)
Inspect and maintain safety systems such as fire extinguishers emergency exits and smoke alarms
Accessibility Support
Service and troubleshoot assistive equipment such as walkers wheelchairs and power chairs to ensure safe reliable operation
Perform minor accessibility modifications in participants homes including installing grab bars and repairing or adjusting ramps
Travel to participants homes as needed for accessibility-related improvements
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all maintenance work complies with basic safety standards and ADA accessibility guidelines
Maintain accurate logs and documentation for inspections repairs and preventive maintenance activities
Report and escalate any facility hazards or non-compliant conditions to management promptly
What Youll Need:
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid Michigan drivers license auto insurance and reliable transportation
Ability to lift push pull and move equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds
Knowledge & Experience
Experience in senior care healthcare or public facility maintenance preferred
Proficient in the use of hand tools and small power tools
Hands-on experience repairing or maintaining assistive devices (e.g. wheelchairs walkers)
Familiarity with ADA accessibility guidelines basic building codes and safety inspection standards
