Job Description

Valley View is seeking a HIM Specialist II with strong attention to detail and customer service skills to assist our Medical Records Department. Medical record experience preferred. This is a full-time position.

Must have a high level of accuracy with attention to detail and critical thinking skills. Must also have the ability to function in high multi-tasking environment. Computer proficiency required with the ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with all staff co-workers and customers.

Customer Service experience preferred!

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

  1. Performs Main Medical Record Activities.
  2. Performs Departmental receptionist/secretary duties.
  3. Performs Scanning QA and Document indexing Activities.
  4. Performs Periodic Record Review Activities as Directed by HIM Management.
  5. Performs Routine MPI Management functions.
  6. Provides Departmental coverage for Birth Certificate Registrations.
  7. Provides Release of Information Services as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Medical Secretary Certification or Health Information Management courses preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Consistency and accuracy in routine job functions
  • Previous Health Information Experience preferred.

SALARY

  • Starting salary dependent upon education experience and skillset
  • Position wage range: $20.00 - $28.87/hour
