Job Description
Summary:
Become a Manufacturing Technician 1 to ensure accurate chemical procedures and uphold quality standards.
Essential Functions:
- Operate both automated and manual chemical process equipment.
- Handle tasks like sampling chemical/material handling and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and safe process area strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Safety guidelines.
- Perform manual and computer operations (PLC) to manufacture chemical intermediates and finished products.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies.
- Record and analyze processing data to ensure operating standards are met; make approved adjustments as needed.
- Recommend process improvements to improve operations.
- Acquire and analyze samples of process streams or products submitting them to QC Lab as required.
- Inspect finished products to meet specifications.
- Receive and check raw materials and complete records in line with company procedures.
- Maintain Quality Systems conformance to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Transport full hazardous waste drums to storage areas as per training.
- Work rotating 12-hour shifts including weekends with availability for approved overtime.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in production/manufacturing as an operator or equipment maintenance technician.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience in a chemical processing or pharmaceutical environment is advantageous.
- Strong mechanical proficiency is preferred.
- Completion of Phase I of the Process Tech On-The-Job Training program within the first year of employment is required.
Equivalency:
Equivalent combinations of education training and relevant work experience will be considered based on the above requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand use hands reach with hands and arms and communicate effectively.
- Required to walk stoop kneel and crouch approximately 80% of the time.
- Ascend/descend stairs about 20% of the time.
- Lift up to 50 lbs and sit for a maximum of 4 hours.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision and focus adjustments.
