    We are seeking a dynamic visionary and proven leader to join our educational community as the principal of Sulphur Springs Elementary Schoolserving a student population of approximately 370 students in grades PreK-8th. The Principal will serve through a collaborative environment to shape the academic social and cultural landscape of our school.     TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time 240 Day (12 months) annual contract senior administrative position


    REPORTS TO: Superintendent of Schools


    SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications responsibilities and relevant experience based on the approved high school principal salary schedule. Annual salary includes base salary plus additional variable compensation based on level of education and student enrollment.

    PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: Annual based on performance of assigned duties and established performance objectives


    FLSA Status: Exempt

    PURPOSE:
    The purpose of this essential school leadership position is to provide effective instructional leadership and school operations. Major responsibilities include instructional leadership capacity building staff management organizational management student-centered decision-making facility maintenance and management efficient fiscal management and developing effective community relations.

    Qualifications Profile

    Certification/License:
    • Valid Tennessee Teaching License required; AND
    • Valid Tennessee Instructional Leadership License (ILL) required
    Education
    • Minimum of masters degree from an accredited college or university preferably in Instructional Leadership (or equivalent).
    Experience
    • Successful teaching experience at the high school level preferably in one or moresubject areas and grade levels.
    • Successful administrative experience required with experience asa high school principalpreferred.

    • Creates and maintains a collaborative school climate that is conducive to the professional learning process and the academic achievement and growth of all students.
    • Involves others in the development and execution of a schools continuous improvement plan consistent with the goals of the school aligned with the goals of the school system and the expectations of the community.
    • Demonstrates a clear and actionable vision of college and career readiness expectations.
    Human Capital Management/Resources
    • Performs the process of teacher and staff evaluations with fidelity and provides accurate timely and actionable feedback that leads to improved student achievement.
    • Delegates duties and establishes clear expectations for all faculty staff and students while maintaining ownership of the responsibility for the decisions made and the actions taken.
    • Demonstrates sensitivity to staff members needs.
    • Supports and recognizes the professional growth of staff members.
    • Supervises evaluates supports and provides quality feedback for teachers support staff and students.
    Student Services/Relationships
    • Builds an environment conducive to engaging challenging and creative learning clean safe respectful purposeful challenging and positive.
    • Establishes and maintains a fair and consistent Code of Student Conduct as the basis of judgments in disputes confrontations and/or disciplinary cases.
    • Communicates school policies relating to student behavior to students and parents.
    • Maintains fair and consistent discipline in accordance with local state and federal guidelines.
    • Provides supervision for the after-school program and other special activities as necessary.
    • Notifies and collaborates with parents in a timely manner to resolve student/student and student/faculty issues.
    Community/Stakeholder Relationships
    • Maintains a positive working relationship with parents and other stakeholders.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to the district school students and staff.
    • Provides a program of recognition for students faculty staff and community partners.
    • Knows the community and provides clear and effective oral and written communication.
    • Is accessible to school and community members.
    General Leadership/Management Skills
    • Takes ownership of the efficient effective and sound management of the schools fiscal and material resources according to the Tennessee Internal Uniform Accounting Policy Manual.
    • Oversees and administers all aspects of the high school budget.
    • Understands and consistently applies administrative procedures school board policies and school law.
    • Reviews revises and implements the school crisis management plan.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in allocating available resources (time personnel materials and support) to best support student achievement and the development of the whole child.
    • Accepts and completes special projects engages in professional learning and completes other duties as assigned by the Superintendent/Director of Schools.

    Additional Duties
    Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Superintendent and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

    Travel Requirements

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles and behavioral management methods.
    • Knowledge of High School curriculum and concepts.
    • Knowledge of best practices in administration program evaluation and staff supervision.
    • Knowledge of data information systems data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
    • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education.
    • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
    • Ability to develop and implement projects.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
    • Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.
    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership performance and professional growth.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
