We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor for our Dalton Georgia facility. This position will be on 1st shift which is 7:00AM-7:30PM Monday through Thursday. Pay rate is $60000-$78000 per year.

The Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the extrusion process ensuring safety quality on time delivery and productivity targets are met. This role is responsible for supervising employees and ensuring they fulfill the mission and goals of Techmer PM.
Safety Management
- Complies with and enforces all company safety procedures and administers disciplinary actions when required.
- Provides safety training and orientation to new employees.
- Identifies and cultivates opportunities to improve working area conditions and works with maintenance and engineering on the implementation of new ideas.
- Reports investigates and documents all safety-related incidents and leads the team in the investigation of root causes and development of corrective actions.
- Ensures the team completes all safety and process training timely.
Planning and Scheduling
- Utilizes all resources to complete customer orders on time driving on time deliveries (OTD) to 95%.
- Coordinates with scheduling and optimizes manpower efficiency through color sequencing changeover (C/O) reduction time and operators compliance to manufacturing procedures.
- Coordinates with scheduling and maintenance to have corrective and preventive maintenance done on all the equipment on time.
- Drives implements and sustains 6S across the manufacturing area.
- Audits the production staff to ensure the process is within engineering parameters and works with the team to update SOPs when needed.
- Actively engaged in working with staff leads and process engineering to troubleshoot any non-conformance or quality issues by utilizing Lean and 6 Sigma tools to develop root cause and corrective actions.
- Participates in Kaizen events to optimize processes reduce and eliminate non-conformance and rework and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Ensures production is always in compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and participates in audits as needed.
- Utilizes cross-training and other methods to continually develop team skill sets in batching and extruding processes.
- Ensures ERP transactions are error-free and on time.
- Works with Manufacturing Manager to achieve annual manufacturing metrics.
- Performs quarterly employee reviews to grade and develop workforce.
- Administers the Absentee Control Program for staff.
- Administers disciplinary actions when an employee violates any safety or process-related procedure.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 2-3 years of prior manufacturing supervisory experience.
- Experience in using and following a Quality Management System in Manufacturing (QMS).
- Computer literate in MS Office and Microsoft D365 ERP system.
- Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma tools to resolve processing problems and optimize efficiencies.
- Expertise in deployment and driving manufacturing metrics (KPI).
- Experience in compounding polymers or related field.
- High degree of organizational skills to effectively handle all assigned responsibilities.
- Experience in implementing Good Manufacturing Practices across the production area
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred) with excellent written and spoken communication skills
