Masters Degree in psychology social work or another related mental health field
Registered with the Board of Behavioral Science as an Associate as an associate- ACSW APC AMFT
Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross.
Must possess a valid CA drivers license and maintain a driving record that meets the company driver eligibility policy
Applicants must have attained the age of 18 years of age
The Mental Health Specialist assesses clients at start of treatment (reviews as needed) develops and maintains treatment plans and conducts family collateral and discharge planning. Duties include discussing goals and objectives of proposed treatment plans and establishes a contract with the consumer. Interviewing consumers to team with mental health professionals in determining the needs of individuals or groups on a walk-in/telephone basis; respond to potential suicide or other emergency events. Visits clients individually or as part of a team in a variety of living situations to help assess the mental health needs of individuals and families observe progress provide counseling gather data and report significant changes in the clients condition to designated professional staff.
Division/Program Overview:
The Valley Star Crisis Mobile Response Team operates from 6 PM to 8 AM offering rapid mental health assessments and crisis interventions. Serving all age groupschildren adolescents adults and older adultsthe program provides essential services for individuals needing immediate crisis intervention and stabilization.
