AGENCY INFORMATION: The Natural Resources Service Center is responsible for program accounting cash management and revenue/expenditure control for state agencies that support and guide Maines natural resource-based economy. These agencies keep our state parks and public lands pristine prevent and stop forest fires map the ocean floor protect the food we eat enforce fishery wildlife and environmental laws register snowmobiles and enhance your enjoyment of the Maine outdoors from Baxter State Park in the north woods to the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: As an Accounting Support Technician you will be working with the Natural Resources Service Center as part of the team charged with making payments to our vendors and state employees and you will help manage the revenues of our client agencies.
In this fast-paced environment youll be asked to complete a variety of tasks each day to ensure timely payments and to properly record revenues. You will become proficient in the States accounting platforms and be part of a critical team supporting all the natural resource agencies in Maine.
A good candidate will possess good critical thinking skills have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and be able to communicate effectively with their supervisor and team members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education training and/or experience in accounting support functions or another closely related field demonstrating competency in applying basic accounting principles and standards and maintaining records.
