Collins is currently seeking a Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineer with years of experience or practical application in working with electronic and mechanical systems for military contractors and supporting products designed for the military. This engineer will be responsible for providing R&M and FRACAS support to production and/or new development programs including reliability and maintainability predictions and analyses testability analyses maintainability demonstrations highly accelerated stress testing and Failure Review and Corrective Action tasks.

Trusted Mission Processing (TMP) provides embedded processing solutions for rugged real-time applications. The TMP Whole Life Engineering (WLE) team is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to ensure effective operation reliability maintainability testability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

What You Will Do

  • As a Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) and Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Engineer you will be responsible for executing the R&M/FRACAS program activities such as:
  • Conducting Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) analyses including reliability predictions and maintainability predictions
  • Performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and Fault Detection/Fault Isolation (FDFI) analyses
  • Defining/allocating R&M requirements
  • Assessing R&M performance: Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) Mean Time Between Critical Failure (MTBCF) & Operational Availability (Ao)
  • Interpreting data and analyzing results
  • Ensuring performance compliance to requirements
  • Maintaining complex Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) and system models
  • Presenting to internal and external stakeholders at program meetings and Failure Review Boards (FRB)
  • Performing FRACAS tasks including trend analysis and failure investigations
  • Supporting the proposal process in developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for R&M/FRACAS work
  • Tracking Earned Value (EV) and providing accurate status on the schedule and budget for the R&M/FRACAS scope

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Experience in Reliability Failure Analysis and/or Quality Engineering.
  • Ability to take an analytical approach and utilize technical knowledge to solve challenges with optimal solutions
  • Strong organization problem solving time management and communications skills; detailed oriented
  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Reliability and FRACAS Engineering Concepts including knowledge of reliability and maintainability predictions FMECA/FDFI RBDs MTBF/MTBCF Ao
  • Experience presenting to Failure Review Boards
  • Electrical Engineering experience Electrical Engineering degree/education preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect organize analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to present technical material to various audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines

The salary range for this role is 66000 USD - 130000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
