JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Part-Time Social Media Assistant Lead

The Social Media Specialist Lead for Campus Recreation communications supports patron-facing promotional efforts and handles communication projects across social media channels. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation this role is vital in both managing the social media team and overseeing content creation. A minimum of one semester of experience on the Campus Recreation student creative team is required.

Key Responsibilities

This position requires strong organizational skills creativity and an understanding of social media strategy. The Lead will play a critical role in shaping Campus Recreations social media presence and ensuring alignment with the Universitys communication goals.

Social Media Specialist - Lead acts as an ambassador for Penn State Campus Recreation both at work and away. Respectfully manages disagreementsmodels positive rapport with patronsand employees is a decisive decision maker in the absence of professional staff displays role model appropriate behavior at all times including in online communities. Maintains regular and frequent communication with supervisory team can interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations and promotes Campus Recreation programs and services.

Work will take place on the University Park Campus and successful candidate must successfully complete a background check and must be able to accommodate a variable work schedule that will include mornings evenings weekends and University breaks.

Campus Recreation is a department within Student Affairs that provides fitness wellness and recreational programs to the campus community through the operation and administration of the new expanded and renovated 200000 sf Intramural Building the McCoy Natatorium the 700-acre Stone Valley Outdoor Recreation Area a Tennis Center including six clay courts and four indoor courts the White Building Outdoor Adventures Aquatics Club Sports Fitness and Wellness Programs and Intramural Sports.
