Job Description

Ivy Tech Evansville seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to join our Nursing School to assist in teaching to the next generation of nurses in the vital work they do and provide instruction (classes labs & clinicals) within the program. They assist academic administrators with curriculum development student advising program enrollment; provide institutional support and community service. Fully supports the Colleges mission and strategic plan initiatives.

With a passion for patients and for teaching our Registered Nurse adjunct faculty provide the real work experience that allow Ivy Tech to be the largest provider of associates-level nurses in the nation. Our graduates are prepared for work in hospitals nursing and residential care facilities home health care physician offices schools health departments and more.

Major Responsibilities:

Candidates considered for adjunct positions under this postings must be able to provide instruction in person at the Evansville IN campus.

PROGRAM OPERATION:

  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.

  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.

  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.

  • Submits requested information within established timelines.

STUDENTS:

  • Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.

  • Deal with student concerns and if necessary consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.

INSTRUCTION:

  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Blackboard PowerPoint etc. as appropriate.

  • In event of emergency absence notifies program/department chair.

  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people styles and views. Promote same as an integral part of ones work.

Hiring Range:

  • $45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2160 per 8-week course).

Work Hours:

  • This role will run on weekdays starting in the fall term beginning on August 25 2025. Specific hours will depend on classes assigned but may include evenings.
