Job Description
We are currently seeking a Real Estate Lawyerto join our bench of fully vetted candidates working secondments for our top global clients.
Responsibilities:
- Advise government entities and municipalities on land development and zoning matters for large development projects ensuring compliance with municipal provincial and federal regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence reviews to assess the legal aspects of land transactions including title searches environmental assessments and regulatory compliance.
- Assist clients in obtaining necessary permits approvals and variances for land development projects. Prepare and submit applications to municipal authorities planning boards and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary legal team including real estate lawyers environmental specialists and regulatory experts to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience specializing in land use law with a deep understanding of provincial land use and zoning regulations.
- Demonstrated experience providing high-quality and effective legal counsel in areas of land use planning development law expropriations development charges and agreements as well as advocacy before administrative tribunals.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
