Position Purpose: Part-Time Senior Assistant Swim Coach (SA) will assist the Head Coach (HC) with student-athlete development club development and training and competition development. The SA will also assist the HC in ensuring that Germantown Academy continues to develop the best prepared student-athletes and coaches in the world. In conjunction with the HC the SA will also ensure that GA and GAAC swimmers continue to excel at the highest levels; locally nationally and internationally. We are seeking candidates for a part-time position (26 hours per week) to join our community beginning August 2025. This is a 9-month position with a competitive Qualifications:5 plus years of competitive swimming/coaching experienceCurrent registered USA Swimming CoachCoaching and Team Responsibilitiesassists the HC with the oversight and direction of the senior programensures that stroke instruction and training principles for the senior program remain at the forefront of the sportensures that all of the necessary training equipment to achieve individual and team goals is present helps establish an environment that fosters a positive team attitude encourages self-discipline sportsmanship self-control and personal responsibilitylives the GA missionassists the HC with the development and implementation of incentives to motivate athletes to achieve individual and team goalsassists the HC with all recognition programspromotes a positive self-image through constructive feedback to athletesassists with assigning lanes to athletes during workouts to ensure that all athletes get the most out of their trainingCommunicationmeets daily with the HC to discuss the progress of the senior programnotifies the HC of any significant problems in the senior training groupmaintains effective relations with business leaders community groups media representatives and facilities personnelpromotes GA and GAAC in a positive manner maintains a close affiliation with swimming organizations such as USA Swimming and Middle Atlantic Swimmingmaintains close contact with the HC through daily communicationsProgram Growthassists the HC with the recruiting of new club membersassists the HC with the development and distribution of recruiting materials participates in the planning of and attends all fund raising activities for the clubactively involved in the planning development and promotion of club hosted swim meetsAdministrative Responsibilitiesattends all scheduled staff and administrative meetingsprovides input to the HC for seasonal yearly and quad meet-planningmaintains continued athlete recruitment through phone calls emails and exit interviewsassists the coaching staff with all meet entrieshas the authority to use the club credit card for expenditures that are approved by the HC/and or/office managerTeam Travel and Meet Responsibilitiesattends all meets that are assigned by the HCassists the HC with the distribution of specific meet information to athletes parents and staff members in a timely mannerassists with the communication to parents athletes and staff members all important times and deadlines for swim meetsprovides timely coaching instructions and feedback to athletes and is easily accessible throughout the entire meetremains at meets until all GAAC swimmers have completed their swims or until they are no longer needed or until they are released by the HCassists with the preparation of GAAC hosted meetsPerformance of Dutiesmaintains professional integritycomplies with the USA Swimming code of conductexudes the GA Mission at all timesrepresents the club with the highest moral and ethical behaviorpositive role model for athletesmaintains a professional appearance at all times while representing the clubProfessional Development Responsibilitiesseeks and attends professional educational opportunitiesOther Dutiesthe HC may assign other responsibilities and duties as needed
