Description

We are seeking a thoughtful and experiencedUX Product Researcherto join our team in supporting the global mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In this role you will plan conduct and share research that informs the design of a wide range of Church productsfrom mobile and web applications to curriculum visitor centers and more.

Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve user experiences and ensure products meet the needs of members and users around the world. You may be asked to mentor and train other on UX research methodology.

Your work will directly support Church leaders and administrators in making informed inspired decisions. This position supports the Correlation Research Divisions assignment to provide timely relevant and reliable information to General Authorities and Church administrators to help them respond to the diverse challenges and opportunities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as it shares its message throughout the world.

We especially welcome applicants who bringmultilingual fluencyandcross-cultural sensitivity to the needs of cultures outside the US and Canada as we strive to serve a diverse global Church. Individuals hired in this role may be asked to temporarily relocate (12 years) to an area of the Church outside the US and Canada to support global research efforts.



Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute user researchusing a variety of methodsincluding interviews observations focus groups usability testing surveys and fieldworktailored to specific audiences and goals.
  • Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative datainto clear actionable insights that answer research questions and inform decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teamsto integrate research into the product development lifecycle.
  • Lead and contribute to research projects including planning documentation and coordination of timelines deliverables and team contributions.
  • Consult with internal partners to understand research needs provide guidance and deliver impactful findings.
  • Mentor and support peersin research methods and best practices fostering a culture of empathy curiosity and continuous learning.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors ensuring quality and alignment with project goals.
  • Support global research initiatives which may include temporary international assignments to better understand and represent diverse user needs.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

  • Masters degree is recommended in psychology sociology anthropology cognitive science instructional design user experience or other social science fields.
  • Three to seven years of experience (masters 3) conducting various research methodologies in a professional setting.
  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply but may be hired at a lower grade level. We are open to a wide range of experience levels to fill this position.

  • Research Facilitation: Confident in leading research sessionsboth in-person and remotewhile creating a comfortable and engaging environment for participants.
  • Independent Execution: Self-motivated and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects deadlines and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Project Organization: Skilled in scoping research questions selecting appropriate methods and managing the end-to-end research process while hitting agreed update timelines with attention to detail.
  • Project Ownership: Self-directed and organized capable of managing multiple projects timelines and stakeholders while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Cross-Cultural Competence: Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations; sensitivity to global perspectives and local contexts.
  • Multilingual Proficiency: Native or fluent proficiency in a language other than English is highly valued and essential for supporting global research efforts.
  • Technical Fluency: Comfortable using tools such as Microsoft Office Suite Qualtrics and statistical or research platforms to support end-to-end research workflows.

Additional Information

  • This is a non-managerial role with no direct reports.
  • Some roles may involve temporary international relocation (12 years) to support global research efforts.

We are open to considering candidates with different levels of experience. Below is the specific requirement for different levels we will consider.

  • Researcher 1/Grade 92Bachelor-level degree plus 2 years or masters degree plus 1 year of professional experience

  • Researcher 2/Grade 94 Bachelor-level degree plus 4 years or masters degree plus 3 or more years of professional experience

  • Researcher 3/Grade 96masters plus 7 or PhD plus 5 or more years of professional experience
