DESCRIPTION:The administrative assistant performs the day-to-day secretarial functions of the William E. Norris :Works under the supervision of the Principal and Assistant Principal. Evaluated by the Principal or ENVIRONMENT:Work is performed within an elementary school environment. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform the day-to-day secretarial functions of William E. Norris a high degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of the school site operation; establish maintain and ensure proper use of confidential files which may include student personnel and payroll records. Ensure the safety of the school building by greeting monitoring and checking the identification of all people coming into the building and ensuring that measures are in place to identify maintain and update student records in areas related to special education and 504 plans; enter maintain and update data in a variety of databases including PowerSchool and PowerSchool to compile data run reports and labels and produce other communications; maintain special educationPrepare and compile various school reports such as SPED progress reports and other assigned reports according to established a computer with knowledge of specific software programs; operate a telephone photocopier intercom fax machine calculator and other office a wide variety of secretarial work including typing proofreading filing recording information and processing and distribution of all correspondence much of which is of a confidential nature.
