Job Description

Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Vice President Strategic Advancement Operations the Sr. Associate Director Advancement Gift Administration provides strategic leadership and oversight of the daily operations of gift administration including gift processing gift accounting and gift compliance. The Sr. Associate Director is responsible for the intake and recording of philanthropic gifts payments and pledges to Morehouse College and will ensure accurate and timely creation of funds and donation processing. S/he oversees the entire gift cycle to ensure that all funds raised reach their designated purpose at the College. The Sr. Associate Director manages the Gift Accountant providing leadership for processing of all donor gift types fund reconciliation development and execution of specialized reports and metrics work processes and workflow and training of employees related work processes and procedures. The Sr. Associate Director is knowledgeable about the operations of fund administration and able to identify trends and patterns process and protocol and other elements of asset management required for compliance and auditing matters. The Sr. Associate Director ensures that all donations follow IRS CASE and Morehouse Accounting Guidelines enabling accuracy of reporting. The successful Sr. Associate Director of Gift Administration employs their considerable business and finance acumen; communicates clearly and decisively with leadership colleagues and donors; has built trusted relationships with colleagues and holds themselves and their team to the very highest standards of gift administration.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree Four years of relevant work experience in non-profit gift administration finance or similar experience Through knowledge of gift administration including gift processing gift accounting and gift compliance. Knowledge of IRS and CASE guidelines as it pertains to the processing and receipting of gifts. Experience in effectively managing and leading direct reports and teams.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree Experience working in a Higher Education environment. Knowledge of Ascend or another fundraising CRM . Experience with nonprofit and/or fundraising campaigns.
