Description
The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for maintaining and managing medical equipment ensuring it meets regulatory standards and supporting healthcare operations. This role involves overseeing a hospital biomedical equipment program leading a team and acting as a subject matter expert in the field of biomedical engineering. The Biomedical Engineer will provide technical expertise on medical equipment from initial concept to effective implementation while ensuring safety and compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage a hospital biomedical equipment program ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulatory agencies (e.g. VHA TJC SMDA).
Travel
Minimal travel may be required.
Qualifications
Work Environment
This role is based in a hospital setting with exposure to medical equipment and clinical environments. The Biomedical Engineer will interact with clinical administrative and technical staff to ensure the proper functioning of medical technology.
Physical Demands
