- Manage and distribute sterile and non-sterile medical supplies throughout VAPAHCS.
- Monitor inventory levels including expiration dates and critical supplies.
- Replenish and pull stock using barcode technology.
- Receive and verify medical supplies upon delivery.
Sterilization and Preparation:
- Process clean prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
- Operate washer-sterilizers ultrasonic cleaners gas and steam sterilizers.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and follow decontamination protocols.
Distribution:
- Deliver supplies to wards clinics and operating rooms.
- Ensure timely functional and accurate delivery of supplies.
Customer Service:
- Interact with staff and address inquiries or concerns related to supplies.
Technical Proficiency:
- Understand technical names uses and operating conditions of medical items.
- Use automated point-of-use systems in clinical settings.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain proper documentation and follow all VA policies and procedures.
- Complete required VA-mandated training annually (e.g. infection control ethics privacy HIPAA).
- Adhere to infection control standards including immunizations and OSHA regulations.
Experience/Qualification:
At least 2 years of recent experience as a Medical Supply Technician or similar role.
- Processing assembling sterilizing and distributing medical supplies.
- Operating sterilization equipment (e.g. washer-sterilizers ultrasonic cleaners gas and steam sterilizers).
- Inventory management barcoding and automated point-of-use systems.
- Applying aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
