POSITION SUMMARY
Utility Specialist will be responsible for the daily training of Production employees in any assigned position(s). They will work with the Production Lead to maintain the Cross-Functional Training Metric for all Production employees. They will have the flexibility to move among different production line(s) and work with different employees to support the overall daily production level loading plan. They will work closely with team members to identify process gaps and work to optimize internal processes in a way that provides the best customer service maintains the standard work process achieves high-quality standards and assists with employee engagement efforts.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Manufacturing Manager/Supervisor
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS
Work on the production line pay attention to instructions from the Manufacturing Manager/Supervisor or Lead who directs the flow of work ensuring the Takt time meets expectations
Communicate any defects or other problems to the Manufacturing Manager/Supervisor or Lead using data. Clearly describes the defect in detail so that improvement can be implemented.
Complies with required use of Personal Protective Equipment (Safety Glasses Steel Toe Shoes Gloves etc.)
Responsible for working 6S on the line at all times enforcing best practices.
Monitor metrics as assigned (production measurements)
Responsible for meeting customer expectations of performance quality OTD etc.
Responsible for ensuring that all production material is available on the line.
Clear and Precise Communication.
Able to read and understand Prints.
GD&T understanding.
Proficient in troubleshooting methodologies.
Maintain a safe and orderly workplace; engage in good housekeeping procedures in assigned areas
Participates in Operational Excellence Processes (Continues Improvement Events RIEs We Win Board)
Training of all Employees using Standard work
Complies with scheduled work hours and Attendance Policy
All other duties assigned by the Manager
ACCOUNTABILITY
Adherence to all safety regulations and proper and safe storage of parts.
Responsible for verifying shipment for correctness against customer orders.
Responsible for upholding the highest ethical standards in the conduct of my employment with the Company and to personally abide by the IDEX Standards of Conduct and Business Ethics Policy.
KPI - On-time delivery targets.
EDUCATION LEVEL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE TRAINING LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience
Experience using JDE software
Attentive to detail
Must be able to perform Multiple positions on the production line within established standard time requirements (to be demonstrated at any time without notice).
Must be able to Train Employees and audit the Production processes.
Must be able to calculate any required metrics
Must be able to operate all equipment on a trained line.
Ability to read write and follow verbal and written instructions
Must know 6S and maintain it on the primary line while respecting it for all other lines.
Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
A team player with the ability to enable changes in business processes and the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of the organization.
Communicate with the Manufacturing Manager/Supervisor and Lead to resolve Problems.
SKILLS AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION
Requires lifting boxes weighing up to 40 pounds
Requires standing for 8 to 10 hours per day
Use of air and electric power tools
Ability to work harmoniously with Team members.
Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment
