As a Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative II (MVCSR II) you will be responsible for examining and verifying documentation presented for the issuance of various identification documents vehicle titles and registrations.
In this role you will interact directly with the public often explaining policies statutes and regulations to ensure compliance with state laws. Additionally you will conduct road exams to assess applicants ability to safely operate a motor vehicle ensuring they meet state licensing requirements. This requires strong attention to detail sound judgment and the ability to provide clear instructions and feedback.

The Anchorage DMV office is located in the heart of Anchorages mid-town Midtown occupies a buzzing cross-section of Anchorage life. Shopping plazas and eateries line the main roads; tucked-away parks andtrailconnections tie the neighborhood to other parts of town to the east and west.. The office provides essential motor vehicle services to residents and visitors operating in a professional yet welcoming environment.
As part of the Anchorage DMV team you will work in a customer-focused setting that requires strong attention to detail multitasking and effective communication. The role involves assisting the public at the front counter processing identification and vehicle-related transactions conducting road exams and explaining policies and regulations. While most work is performed on-site occasional travel may be required for training or outreach initiatives. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in serving their community.
This office operates between the hours of 8:30 am 5:00 pm (with an hour lunch) to the public Monday through Friday with overtime opportunities. The Anchorage DMV is located at 4001 Ingra Street Suite 101 Anchorage AK 99503Who We Are Looking For:
Tobe successful in the position the ideal candidate will possess the following core competencies:
Six months of experience licensing titling and registering motor vehicles maintaining driver records collecting motor vehicle registration taxes and processing license actions required by traffic laws financial responsibility and mandatory insurance laws and judicial suspensions or revocations. This experience is met by service as a Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative 1 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
OR
Six months of employment experience as a driving instructor teaching the safe operation of motor vehicles which included riding with trainees during practice in common traffic situations.
OR
One year of employment experience performing advanced clerical duties that included significant contact with the public to provide information and assistance concerning the services offered; explaining regulations and varying procedures for different situations; maintaining computerized records; and some purchasing accounting or cash handling tasks.
Substitution:
Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience. (Three semester hours or four quarter hours equal one month.)

Possession of a valid Alaska non-commercial driver license is required.
