Your role and responsibilities

You will:

  • champion the rights of children and families to have their voices heard and to be part of their own solutions and safety planning with the child remaining at the centre of decision making
  • develop a new FGC offer in Suffolk including the recruitment and management of Family Group Conference Coordinators and manage referrals into the FGC Service and lead work allocation
  • champion FGC and its key principles within Childrens Services and with our partner agencies so that FCGs become integrated within the childs journey at key decision points in the lives of vulnerable children in Suffolk
  • develop the scope and vision for the service and ensure FGCs are used as an effective preventative service
  • establish and ensure performance management data is recorded monitored and reported using appropriate systems and develop monitoring systems to capture and evaluate service user feedback to inform future service development
  • work closely with frontline childrens teams to deliver integrated support and support the upskilling of wider teams (not formal training) to deepen their knowledge of family networks and family group decision making.


You will need

  • Commitment to the FGC model and principles
  • Experience leading teams and delivering services for children
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and management
  • Strong written verbal and interpersonal skills for working with families and stakeholders
  • Cultural competence and understanding of diverse identities
  • Understanding of statutory safeguarding frameworks
  • Creative solution-focused problem-solving abilities.
