Job Description
We currently have an opportunity for Network Engineers with Defence experience. Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australias future.
What Youll Do
This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:
- Support the design build and deploy of complex network solutions.
- Create update and review all associated network documentation.
- Provide Network SME advice to the customer and internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project definition system architecture and process improvement.
- Create Knowledge Articles on key processes and procedures for network devices and systems that can be used across the service desk and wider community of IT support staff.
- Identify innovative service improvements that provide additional value to network solutions.
- Work with peers in a highly collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Reviewing Telstra design and documentation
What Youll Bring
- Experience as a Network/Gateway Engineer.
- In-depth understanding of the Defence Strategic Network.
- Proficient in a wide range of networking technologies such as:
-Routing and switching
-IPSec VPN VXLAN OSPF BGP MPLS TE
-Next-generation firewalls
-Voice over IP
-Enterprise wireless LAN infrastructure
-Network segmentation and access control
-Network telemetry protocols such as NetFlow and SNMP - Strong knowledge of industry-standard frameworks (e.g. TOGAF).
- Hands-on expertise in network automation using NSO and Ansible.
- Skilled in Linux OS with experience in shell scripting and Python.
