Job Description

The Pawtucket School Department is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Speech Pathologist to screen evaluate and provide appropriate services to students with communication disorders (articulation voice language fluency) that affect educational performance. Also included in the responsibilities is consultation with teachers and parents and participation in Individual Education Plan team meetings.EXEMPLARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Implementation and development of Students Individual Education Plans within IDEA guidelines. Development of measurable IEP goals and objectives based on assessment evaluation and diagnosis of Communication Disorders that impact educational as a member on the Evaluation IEP and RTI/MTSS teams. Maintaining complete and accurate longitudinal records for all of clinical reports that are clear and in professional development discipline meetings and school- based completion of all Medicaid required data and documentationParticipation in State Assessment data collection requirements (TSG)IS KNOWLEDGEABLE OF:Current approaches methodology and research in the field to foster professional growthUse and administration of a variety of Assessment tools (PPVT TOLD CELF)IDEA/ADA regulations and the impact on Speech and Language and development of Augmentative communication systems and devises.SKILLED AT: Communicating effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to screen evaluate diagnose and remediate communication disorders of students three to twenty-one years of to develop and implement appropriate goals and objectives for each individual student and to select and utilize therapeutic materials effectively with individuals and small groups of cooperatively with families teachers and professionals in related proficiency with use of computer based data systems email Office applications and educational/therapeutic apps. LICENSE/CERTIFICATE:RIDE certification as a Speech and Language PathologistCertificate of Clinical Competence from ASHADESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Masters degree in the area of Speech-Language Pathology is requiredAt least (1) year of experience in a school with diversity preferred.COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:Full PSD benefits will be determined by the appropriate placement on the Districts teachers salary schedule.
