Expected hiring range $80500 to $95000 based on education experience and skills.

Duties:
Ability to travel to work sites District facilities and other sites for meetings.
Available for evening weekend and holiday hours as required.
Serves as on-call supervisor.
Assist in preparation of the annual budget.
Assists in creation of the Capital Improvement Plan annually providing information as needed.
Creates and coordinates the five-year Parks and Open Space Master Plan.
Coordinates the Master Plan Implementation and Tracking Plan of the districts capital improvements and long-range plans.
Coordinates development and implementation of the Master Plan District-Wide Improvements such as but not limited to the Capital Asset Replacement/Maintenance Schedule (CARMS) Paving Maintenance Plan (PMP) Sport Court Maintenance Plan (SCMP) Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Management Plan Playground Audit Recommendations ADA Compliance Recommendations and Transition Plan.
Coordinates the design of park and recreation facility construction and improvement projects.
Identifies researches and coordinates land acquisitions and annexations.
Performs administrative tasks such as but not limited to certified payroll records purchase orders vendor pay applications project and property file management using appropriate District software applications.
Creates and coordinates development and use of Geographic Information System (GIS) for tasks such as but not limited to park mapping asset management project and comprehensive planning.
Creates graphic plans related to park design and layout.
Maintains and submits NRPA Park Metrics data and updates annually.
Contract and work effectively with architects and engineering consultants and contractors
on coordination of park design and renovation projects.
Prepare bid and quote documents graphics procedures and summaries for selection of contractors for park improvement projects.
Supervise and inspect contractor and employee practices t o ensure specification compliance and satisfactory completion of projects.
Creates and coordinates grant applications and prepares and submits monthly grant progress reports reimbursements requests and related documentation.
Creates and coordinates natural area assessments and develops related Natural Area Management Plans (NAMPs).
Leads a committee in development and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives.
Maintains inventory of fixed assets property records and legal descriptions.
Collaborates with Administration and Finance staff as requested on developer park land/cash donations.
Supervises departmental staff on items such as but not limited to training assignments timecard recording and scheduling.
Conducts scheduled evaluations of departmental staff.
Performs hiring of departmental staff.
Supervises contracted and in-house buildings and facilities custodial maintenance.
Provides timely and accurate updates to internal and external parties as requested. Attends meetings to present information as needed.
Develops maintains and/or engages in relationships with community agencies and groups that benefit District operations and improve the community.
Participates in the implementation of Strategic Plan Initiatives.
Leads community engagement efforts for planning projects including facilitation of public input sessions stakeholder meetings and surveys to ensure plans reflect community needs and priorities.
Reviews post-project evaluations to assess effectiveness gather feedback and document lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Monitors and coordinates department expenditures with Finance and Operations Department in accordance with the current budget.
Attends relevant conferences and seminars.
Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor to support the Parks Department or the District.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Park Management Community/Urban Planning Landscape Architecture preferred
Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of experience in park planning and/or management project management and staff management preferred. However a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in all these areas may qualify in lieu of a degree.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in all aspects of project management (planning budgeting bidding supervision and documentation).
Minimum three (3) years of staff management preferred.
Microsoft Office software knowledge required specifically in Excel/Word/Outlook.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Park planning and management principles
Project management principles
Landscape architectural and civil engineering construction principles
Land use planning and natural resource preservation/restoration principles
Environmental sustainability (Green) principles. (Certificate from NRPA Green School or similar program preferred)
Geographic Information System (GIS)
Custodial maintenance
Ordinances and permit requirements and application process of state and local agencies
Understand and use necessary computer operating systems and job-related software applications
Manages own time with minimal direction.
Adjusts priorities based on work environment
Reads writes and communicates information such as but not limited to safety rules operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals and correspondence
Confident articulate and professional verbal and written abilities
Communicates effectively with employees through listening speaking writing and non-verbal cues.

Identifies problems or challenges and develops and implements solutions.
Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations
Operate vehicles and equipment necessary to perform jobs assigned
License/Certification:
Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification required within one (1) year of hire date
NRPA Green School completion
First Aid/CPR/AED certification required within one (1) year of hire date
Valid and unrestricted drivers license (not including vision restrictions requiring corrective lenses).

Hours:
Monday - Friday 7am-3:30pm would be the base schedule.
