Job Description

The Opportunity

We are partnering with NATSIHA to appoint a highly organised reliable and culturally aware Business Manager and Secretariat to join their growing team. This role will provide expert support to the CEO Board and broader leadership team. It is a diverse and senior administrative role that sits at the heart of the organisation; balancing strategic oversight secretariat duties governance compliance executive coordination and ministerial liaison.

About the Organisation

NATSIHA is the first and only national leadership body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing in Australia. Their purpose is to facilitate access to quality accessible affordable and culturally appropriate housing to help empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals families and communities to optimise their health and wellbeing and improve their employment opportunities access to education connection to the community and sense of home.

You will be an integral part of a passionate high-performing team working to close the housing gap for First Nations peoples.

What Youll Be Doing
  • Provide executive-level support to the CEO including calendar and travel management priority tracking and coordination of timelines for key deliverables.
  • Deliverhigh-level secretariat support to the Board and Committees including preparation of agendas accurate minute-taking action tracking and timely distribution of materials.
  • Assist theCompany Secretary in maintaining statutory and governance registers and ensure compliance with recordkeeping and governance protocols.
  • Rebuild and maintain structured secure and accessible digital and physical filing systems across executive and Board functions.
  • Manage complextravel itineraries for the CEO and senior staff ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Act as a keyliaison with ministerial offices and senior government stakeholders supporting engagement and meeting logistics with professionalism and protocol.
  • Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth running of the CEOs office including invoice processing and procurement support.
  • Contribute tointernal and external event planning and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Foster a positive inclusive and respectful organisational culture aligned with NATSIHAs values.
About You

Were looking for a confident capable individual who thrives in a fast-paced mission-driven environment and who can take initiative to improve systems communication and processes across the executive office.

Youll bring:

  • Proven experience in high-level administrative or executive support ideally in a governance policy or advocacy environment.
  • Strong understanding ofBoard and governance requirements including agenda setting minute taking and recordkeeping.
  • Experience working withFirst Nations organisations peak bodies or in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community housing sector will be highly regarded.
  • A high degree of professionalism discretion and cultural sensitivity when engaging with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and digital collaboration skills (e.g. SharePoint Teams Zoom).
  • Excellent communication time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to proactively manage competing priorities and support strategic timelines with minimal supervision.
