SUMMARY: Accountable for the following responsibilities listed below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedules coordinates and executes the following for our customers:
o Subjective Evaluation (Primary):
Noise and ride
Wet and dry handling
Off-road
Hydroplaning
Other specialized testing by request
o Objective Evaluation (Secondary):
Pass by noise
Objective NVH measurement
Vehicle braking
Traction trailer testing and support
o Engineering support including new test development
Ability to prioritize and manage time and resources effectively and in collaboration with engineering staff.
Ability to carry out assignments in a logical fashion using existing technology and standardized methods.
Provides quality data on time with a high level of customer service to meet product development deadlines.
Coordinates and participates in product demonstrations to tire dealers and the media.
Communicates with customers to understand their needs and convey results.
Reports results in an orderly and timely fashion.
Maintains driver certification and provides training to others.
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% to 20% of the time.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in science required engineering preferred.
Automotive industry experience required.
Five (5) or more years of performance driving and tire testing/evaluation experience required.
Understanding of automotive functions and vehicle dynamics relative to tire test performance.
Knowledge of data acquisition and vehicle instrumentation required.
Knowledge of standard tire evaluation techniques and ratings including terminology.
