Permanent Radiology/Nuclear Medicine Technologist Location: College Station TX 77845
Shift: 12 HR Days 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 12 per week
Compensation: Based on experience
Essential Functions: Quality Assurance
- Perform high-quality nuclear medicine PET and theranostic imaging procedures per exam protocol
- Evaluate image quality and ensure adherence to standards
- Perform quality control on equipment per manufacturer RAM or ACR guidelines
- Collaborate with engineers and physicists to maintain equipment functionality
Caring Practices
- Communicate with patients to identify service needs and build rapport
- Explain exams and procedures following HIPAA guidelines
- Assess patients ability to tolerate the exam
Patient Safety
- Clearly explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety
- Follow infection-control practices aseptic techniques and patient positioning standards
- Maintain required hand hygiene
- Use proper sterile techniques during invasive procedures
Radiation Safety
- Follow all radiation safety protocols to protect patients colleagues and self
- Verify the correct radiopharmaceutical for each exam or treatment
- Screen patients for pregnancy status
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications safely
- Provide patient education about radiation safety
- Follow correct disposal guidelines for radioactive materials
Collaboration
- Report operational or patient issues to leadership or the appropriate department
- Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies/radiopharmaceuticals
- Work closely with colleagues nursing staff medical providers and Radiologists
- Ensure accurate transfer of images to PACS for physician review and reporting

- Provide first aid and respond to emergencies
- Maintain current knowledge and skills to care for patients of all age groups (newborn through geriatric)
- Deliver services accurately timely and cost-efficiently
- Work independently with minimal supervision

- Support customer satisfaction through courteous service and reduced wait times
- Contribute to training of new team members and students
- Adhere to all policies procedures and workflows including PACS EMR and information security
Qualifications: Education:
- Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology
Certification/License/Registration:
- ARRT-N (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Nuclear Medicine) or
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) through NMTCB
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer
- MRT (Medical Radiologic Technologist) license
Skills:
- General computer proficiency including Microsoft Office PACS EMR image exchange systems
- Strong communication patient education and interpersonal skills
- Ability to function autonomously and deliver high-quality patient care
