Job Description
Permanent Respiratory Therapist/ICU
Location: Waco TX 76712
Shift: 12 HR Days 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Compensation: Based on experience
- Deliver respiratory care services such as oxygen and aerosol therapy according to physician orders and clinical standards.
- Work collaboratively with physicians nurses and other members of the care team to coordinate and deliver patient care.
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergency situations.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements including infection control HIPAA and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a team-oriented attitude with colleagues and patients to support a positive work environment.
- Embrace opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement to meet evolving clinical and technical standards.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Identify implement and communicate opportunities to improve clinical processes and patient outcomes.
- General knowledge of respiratory care modalities therapies equipment and medications
- Ability to read write and follow clinical flowchart protocols
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills including data entry electronic medical documentation and email communication
- Education: Associate degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
- Experience: Less than 1 year of experience acceptable
- Certifications/Licenses:
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required within 30 days of hire or transfer
- RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner): Licensed by the Texas Medical Board
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist): Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
