Permanent Sonography/Ultrasound Tech Location: Waco TX 76712
Shift: 12 HR Days 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Compensation: Based on experience
Essential Functions of the Role: - Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures according to exam protocols in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain production and quality standards for all imaging procedures by following established guidelines.
- Communicate with patients using AIDET principles to:
- Identify patient service requirements
- Confirm correct exam and patient
- Establish rapport and ensure comfort
- Instruct and inform patients and their families about the exam procedure assessing their ability to tolerate it.
- Prepare patients and procedure areas including proper positioning use of immobilization devices and equipment setup.
- Follow safety requirements infection-control procedures drug and radiation policies.
- Maintain proper sterile technique for invasive procedures and ensure hand hygiene compliance.
- Keep equipment and work areas clean functional and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Collaborate with engineers and physicists to maintain equipment functionality reporting issues as needed.
- Verify and maintain all relevant documentation including requisitions patient history pregnancy status consent forms shielding precautions etc.
- Maintain imaging records according to department standards for timely interpretation.
- Screen all persons entering the department according to policy to ensure safety.

- Provide first aid and utilize emergency equipment when necessary
- Maintain a focus on customer satisfaction minimizing wait times and monitoring patient experience scores
- Stay current with skills and continuing education demonstrating knowledge appropriate to all age groups served (newborn pediatric young adult adult geriatric)
Qualifications: - Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Certifications/Licenses: Must be registered in at least one of the following:
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): OB/GYN Abdomen Breast or Musculoskeletal
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography (ARRT-S) or Breast Sonography (ARRT-BS)
- Cardio Credentialing International (CCI) RVS
