- Shared Utility Service / Middleware team is looking for a database administrator to:
- Create physical database designs operate and administer the database management system (DBMS) including database optimization performance tuning backup and recovery Manage database requirements for new client application onboarding the Shared Utility Service hosting. The consultant will be responsible for creating physical database designs and operating and administering the database management system (DBMS) including database optimization performance tuning backup and recovery.
General Skills:
- Experience in database administration at the specified experience level
- Experience of managing Oracle 11g/12c ETL/Data warehouse Experience with UNIX operating system Experience with Oracle database technologies
- Experience in one or more programming language
- Experience in the use of information retrieval packages and proficiency with query language Experience with one or more communications protocol
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skill
- A team player with a track record for meeting deadline
- Experience in monitoring and enforcing database rule
- Experience in Incident Change and Configuration Management procedures
Required Skillsets:
- More than 10 yrs Oracle DBA experience
- Approved experience of Oracle 12c & 19c using multi-tenant architecture
- Oracle 12c RAC Grid infrastructure/ASM
- RMAN backup and Restore
- Data Encryption using ASO/TDE
- Oracle Dataguard Physical/Logical Configuration & Administration
- Oracle Enterprise Manager configuration & Management for alerting & reporting
- UNIX shell scripting
- SQL optimization tuning and performance experience
- MS SQL Server installation Configuration and database management
Desirable Skill:
- Oracle certification - OCP
- Oracle Partitioning
- Oracle Advanced Compression
- Oracle Golden Gate Experience with distributed data system
- Experience with DB2 database technologies
- Data Conversion from DB2 to Oracle
- Building of Oracle RAC on conventional Solaris server
- Oracle Engineered solution
- Experience of DB web search service
- Oracle DB data integration and evaluation
- Experience with middleware and gateways
- Awareness of emerging IT trends and direction
- Experience with infrastructure services within the Ontario government (e.g. Internal Infrastructure Hosting policies and Provisioning practices)
- Knowledge of the GSIC support organization and ITSM processes adopted in OPS including

- Experience with designing building Installing configuring and administering OEM 19c Alerting and Reporting
- Experience installing configuring and administering OEM 19c Alerting and Reporting Oracle Unified Auditing
- Experience installing configuring and administering Oracle 19c Unified Auditing DB performance Tuning (5-7 years experience perform ongoing monitoring and tuning of database )
