About Us
Changsha WES Academy was founded in 2010. It was
jointly established by the Changsha National
Economic and Technical Development Zone
Administrative Committee and WES Group of
Singapore. We are the only international school in
Hunan Province that has been approved by the PRC
Ministry of Education and use English as the primary
language of instruction. We are an accredited
member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) offering Cambridge International
Education (CIE) and International Baccalaureate (IB) curricula. We are currently the only
private school in Changsha that has been awarded the title of "the founding school of child
friendly schools of Changsha".
Changsha WES Academy located in Changsha city Hunan Province. Changsha is the capital
and most populous city of Hunan Province in the south-central part of China. it is a famous
historical and cultural city with a history of over 3000 years. The city enjoys splendid
ancient culture and is home to many ancient tombs and relics. Millennia of history means
that there are numerous attractions for tourists in Changsha including the Yuelu Academy
Mawangdui Tomb Kaifu Temple Tianxin Pavilion and Orange Island. Meanwhile vibrant

We are looking for a High School Mathematics Teacher for August 2025
The applicants must have an enthusiasm and passion for working with students. The
position will commence in August 2025 where the initial contract will be 2 years and the
contract is renewable.
The Changsha WES Academy High School offers renown programmes such as CAIE IGCSE
CAIE A-Level IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and IB Career-Related Programme (IBCP). It
provides a wide range of course options strong background support and professional
college counseling services for High School students who aspire to study abroad ensuring
that each student can pursue their ideal university based on their own interests strengths
and plans.
Job Description
teach students in a way that enables them to achieve high standards of learning.
contribute towards the provision of a dynamic creative international learning
environment.
actively participate in the development of the school.
undertake long medium and short term planning to ensure appropriate curriculum
coverage according to the requirements of the respective examination board syllabi.
ensure that student learning in classes is monitored appropriately assessed and that
the results of such assessment are used to enhance learning.
regularly report progress of students to parents.
keep up-to-date with developments in their subject area and their respective
examination board syllabi.
engage with both formal and informal professional development.
actively participate in the range of extra-curricular activities and programmes that take
place outside the regular school day.
take part in designated school events as defined by the school calendar.
undertake any other reasonable task that school leadership deems to be appropriate.
This includes but is not limited to the job functions involved with the position.
Requirements
Candidates should:
hold a bachelors degree or higher with a major in mathematics or physics preferred.
have more than 2 years relevant teaching experience.
have good communication skills with students.
teach students in a way that enables them to achieve high standards of learning.
contribute towards the provision of a dynamic creative international learning
environment.
work co-operatively and supportively with all members of staff.
experience with IB and IGCSE is beneficial.
