Job Description

The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking a Power Scheduler for the Power Operations department. This position is responsible for scheduling energy purchases and sales for EWEB and EWEBs external clients. The Power Scheduler balances interchange transactions between multiple trading hubs and manages transmission to support EWEBs and its clients trading strategies. The Power Scheduler is also responsible for creating and verifying tags; developing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases to support trading and accounting functions and; complying with external data reporting requirements.

Depending on experience the position may be filled at the Power Scheduler I or II level.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Northwest transmission infrastructure and an understanding of common transmission and ancillary service products. This position will understand BPA and other regional Balancing Authority business practices that apply to scheduling and be capable of quickly understanding and using computer software applications including OATI etagging software OASIS transmission reservation systems and Excel. The Power Scheduler has the ability to perform duties with great attention to detail while completing work within strict scheduling deadlines and is flexible in work assignments including performing routine work backing up co-workers and performing project work.

This is a Limited Duration position that is anticipated to last approximately 18-36 months. Limited Duration positions may last from six months up to three years and the position will end on the projected end date when the work is finished or for any other bona fide business purpose whichever comes first.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting annual salary range for this position based on level commensurate with knowledge skills and education as they relate to the position is:

  • Level I- $82713.16 - $99654.42
  • Level II- $91191.27 - $109869.01

Minimum Training and Experience Required:

Minimum Experience:

  • Level I- One year of utility industry power operations or related experience.
  • Level II- Two years of experience in power scheduling.

Education:Bachelors degree in business finance economics accounting mathematics science engineering or related field.

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.
