Job Description
Responsibilities include managing ESXi hosts and setting up and maintaining virtual servers running Windows operating systems. This role involves configuring and maintaining Cisco switches including VPNs as well as managing wireless networks and access points. Experience with setting up and maintaining firewalls-particularly SonicWall-is preferred. Additional duties include maintaining O365 licenses Active Directory and Group Policy Objects. The position also requires organizing scheduling and implementing routine upgrades with minimal disruption to users installing and configuring software as needed and providing guidance to users on IT systems and software usage. Keeping detailed records of maintenance repairs and schedules is essential along with ensuring the privacy and security of computer systems and data networks. Maintaining optimal performance of local networks and regularly troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues is also a key part of the role.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree in Software Engineering Computer Science or a related field along with 3-5 years of experience in an IT-related role preferably with a focus on infrastructure. They should also have 2-3 years of hands-on experience working with ESXi hosts Cisco switches and Windows server operating systems. Strong problem identification and troubleshooting skills are essential as is a comprehensive understanding of computer systems operating systems servers and data networks. A foundational knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles is expected. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified IT Professional or CompTIA A are a plus. The role requires strong organizational management and communication skills as well as the ability to make quick decisions and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
