JOB TITLE: Mechanical Assembly Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Operations Assembly

REPORTING TO: General Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The Mechanical Assembly Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily operations of the mechanical assembly department including thru-hole assembly rework and product modifications. This role ensures production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality safety and team performance.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Supervise and support the mechanical assembly team including rework personnel.

Ensure daily and weekly production schedules are met with efficiency and quality.

Monitor workflow assign tasks and adjust priorities as needed.

Train coach and mentor assembly staff to meet performance expectations.

Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Identify and address quality issues ensuring compliance with IPC-A-610 standards.

Collaborate with other departments (e.g. engineering quality logistics) to resolve issues and improve processes.

Maintain records of production attendance and performance metrics.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational excellence.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High-School Diploma or GED.

Minimum 10 years electronic manufacturing experience with mechanical assembly techniques tools and drawings.

Must possess good attention to detail.

Must be able to supervise small group of employees.

Must be able to multi task.

Demonstrated ability to detect quality defects to prevent further recurrence.

Basic knowledge of Windows based computers MS Word and Excel.

Must pass and maintain CIS Certification for IPC-A-610 standard.


SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Advanced understanding of processes of PCB assembly.

Understanding of basic geometry.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position will work in both front and shop environments.

In the shop you will be exposed to airborne particles moving mechanical parts machines and material handling vehicles. PPE is required in this shop area.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing duties of this job the employee is required to have good hearing and sight.

You will need to be able to walk the shop floor and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
