Youth Facility Supervisor 2Job Description:
Bring your proven leadership skills to MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility!
In this role you will have the unique opportunity to lead and manage the daily operations of a 24/7 close custody living unit while also playing an integral part in our facilitys leadership team. Your responsibilities will involve overseeing the care supervision control and rehabilitation of adjudicated youth and those from the Department of Corrections within a secure correctional environment. Our aim is to foster a living unit culture and environment deeply rooted in a developmental approach achieved through the implementation and maintenance of fundamental practices. Additionally you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of both the living unit and the facility as a whole giving you valuable experience in management and service excellence.
As a valued member of our facility leadership team you will collaborate closely with the superintendent on strategic planning initiatives for the facility and the agency. Youll have the opportunity to facilitate the Oregon Youth Authority Performance Management System (OPMS) within the facility coordinate Performance-Based Standards (PbS) serve as the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Compliance Manager or take on the role of the facilitys physical intervention master instructor and intervention reviewer. Furthermore during absences you will have the chance to step into the role of Officer-of-the-Day (senior manager-in-charge) and assume the position of Acting Superintendent when needed.

To qualify for the position (minimum qualifications):
Four Years of lead work supervision or progressively related experience;
OR
One year of related experience and a Bachelors degree in a related field
Special Qualifications:
Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).

Workday experience
Prior experience serving as Officer of the Day: Acted as key operational decision-maker for a facility demonstrating leadership and sound judgment during assigned shifts
Background in HR-related responsibilities: Partnered with Human Resources to support staffing processes and manage personnel actions including hiring and onboarding of roles like GLC IIs.
Proven ability to effectively manage staff scheduling including coordinating shifts and approving time-off requests to ensure optimal coverage.
Strong leadership in overseeing daily unit operations maintaining consistency safety and efficiency in a dynamic environment.
Demonstrated experience conducting thorough reviews of youth and staff incidents with a focus on accountability accurate documentation and continuous improvement.

The salary range listed is the non-PERS participating rate. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible the salary range will increase by 6%. Please review the Classification and Compensation page for more details.
This position receives annual increases on anniversary date until the maximum of the salary range is reached.
