The Division of Public Assistance (DPA) has a statewide workflow management model to process benefit applications and paperwork. As an Eligibility Technician 2 you will contribute to the divisions decision-making process regarding eligibility and workflow management. You will supervise a team of Eligibility Technician 1 positions and provide support through coaching mentoring and training using various team serves as the primary point of contact for clients across the state leveraging your public assistance expertise and agency operations knowledge youll assign and review work while interpreting relevant policies. Additionally you will serve as the primary point of contact for building and maintenance issues.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position joins a statewide eligibility workflow team in local Public Assistance offices across the state. The work location is in our Anchorage office located at: 4001 Ingra Street Suite 131 Anchorage AK 99503.

- Computer Skills: Uses computers software applications databases and automated systems to accomplish work.
- Managing Performance:Takes responsibility for employees performance by setting and communicating expectations and goals that are specific and measurable tracking progress against the goals supporting employees efforts to achieve job goals (by providing resources removing obstacles acting as a buffer etc.) ensuring feedback and addressing performance problems and issues promptly.
- Flexibility:Is open to change and new information; adapts behavior or work methods in response to new information changing conditions or unexpected obstacles; effectively deals with uncertainty.

OR
One year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements and working with client customers in stressful situations.
Substitution:
Post-secondary education in such fields as sociology social work psychology counseling human services vocational rehabilitation developmental disabilities behavioral sciences business public administration or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours 1 month).Additional Required Information
