Job Duties
This position exists to serve as the Head Volleyball Coach. To create a positive and winning environment in the Volleyball program while graduating student-athletes. The Head Coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Virginia State University the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and the NCAA.
The Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for the growth and development of student-athletes within the Volleyball program. The primary function is to instruct and educate the student-athletes on how to correctly perform and execute each skill and technique which is essential to their success of the Volleyball program. Supervise and evaluate Assistant Volleyball Coach annually. Assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have experience working in an organized Volleyball team environment.
Must be knowledgeable of the basic fundamental skills as well as the ability to provide instruction and teach techniques of Volleyball.
Must be able to work in a diverse and team setting while having the ability to attract student-athletes to VSU.
Must be able to drive a van to transport student-athletes.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Must have a bachelors degree from an accredited university/college.
