Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer maintain and optimize large-scale SQL Server environments ()
- Design and manage Always On Availability Groups replication log shipping and failover clusters
- Perform query optimization index tuning and execution plan analysis
- Implement backup/restore strategies disaster recovery planning and HA configurations
- Automate routine maintenance using PowerShell T-SQL or Azure Automation
- Migrate and manage databases on Azure SQL Database Azure SQL Managed Instance and SQL on Azure VMs
- Monitor performance using SQL Server DMVs Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
- Ensure security compliance and audit controls (RBAC TDE auditing)
- Collaborate with application teams to review data models stored procedures and performance baselines
- Support DevOps with CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
Skills & Experience Required:
Technical Expertise:
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server administration
- Deep understanding of T-SQL query tuning and execution plans
- Proven experience in managing HA/DR environments (Always On replication)
- Experience with Azure Data Services:
- Azure SQL DB / MI
- Azure Data Factory (basic integration)
- Azure Monitor / Log Analytics
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (ARM Bicep Terraform is a plus)
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation
- Must be willing to work in shifts
Tools & Monitoring:
- SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Redgate / SolarWinds / SentryOne
- Azure Portal Azure Monitor Log Analytics SQL Insights
