Job Description

The purpose of this job is to analyze cash and inventory overages/shortages and gross profit margins for Pilot Flying Js retail sales deli and restaurant categories in stores to promote adherence to financial reporting and procedural standards and handle moderately complex accounting duties.

In this role you will: 

  1. Review and verify daily financial data related to cash sales inventory and margins to identify and analyze variances; collaborate with internal departments to correct variances
  2. Monitor store level cost and cash analysis processes explain trends and aid field and operations support team members
  3. Prepare examine and analyze associated sales analysis accounting records financial statements and reports prior to publication of monthly P&L
  4. Enter data maintain data and analyze information in the companys accounting programs (Infor GL)
  5. Provide ad hoc analysis to support other internal finance departments (corporate accounting accounts receivable)
  6. Assist in other cash flow reporting presentations and analytical initiatives as directed by leadership
  7. Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  8. Prepare record analyze and report accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
  9. Support department functions including forecasting budgeting and analyzing variations from budget
  10. Conduct or assist in the documentation of accounting projects
  11. Perform special projects as assigned
  12. Respond to inquiries via email and phone call

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting required
  • Minimum two years experience in accounting or related area required
  • General Ledger experience preferred
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of general ledger (GL) accounting software
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong teamwork problem solving conflict management influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate financial principles and practices with non-finance team members
  • Ability to meet deadlines work extended hours when necessary and perform work with a high sense of urgency
