International Health and Medical Services is looking for an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients including performing assessments administering medications and managing chronic and acute health conditions. This role involves collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of effective medical services while maintaining adherence to safety security and regulatory standards within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to patients within discipline scope of practice and performs functions in accordance with current accepted practice licensure certification credentialing and competencies.
- Administer medications as ordered. Medications may be given via the oral subcutaneous intramuscular intravenous topical ophthalmic and other enteral and parenteral routes.
- Perform pre-screen and intake patients newly arrived at the facility.
- Use established intake tools for gathering subjective and objective data refer abnormal findings or responses to a registered nurse medical provider dental provider or behavioral health prover as appropriate.
- Perform various treatments such as wound care vital sign checks electrocardiograms etc. as ordered by a medical provider dental provider behavioral health provider or registered nurse.
- Collect laboratory specimens and performs point-of-care testing or prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
- Take appropriate action on lab results received.
- Respond to medical emergencies and render emergency care to stabilize patient and prevent deterioration.
- Transfer patient to appropriate level of care.
- Assis other health care professionals through the gathering of subjective and objective data provision of aspects of care educating patients etc.
- Participate in involuntary court-ordered care.
- Properly use equipment materials and supplies in simple diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment.
- Utilize telephonic interpreter translation services to complete assigned duties if not fluent in a language the patient understands.
- Adapt to sudden changes in schedules and flexibility in work requirements.
- Communicate proficiently in English (verbal and written) in order to develop positive rapport with patients co-workers and other stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships in a multidisciplinary environment. 7. Navigate in an electronic work environment including electronic health records web-based training and communications.
- Moderate proficiency in common Microsoft Office programs specifically Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and SharePoint. 9.
- Have knowledge of regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act) regarding the confidentiality of patient medical records and information as well as Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all communications with coworkers and clients fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment that values diversity.
- Complete required organizational compliance education including assigned requirements that are client-specified for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
- Respond during an emergency activation.
- Availability to work day evening and night shifts weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications :
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Current full and unrestricted LVN/LPN license by the state in which the duty station is located or a compact state that allows practice in the state in which the duty station is located.
- Must have a minimum of one-year experience in a hospital medical office or outpatient clinical setting.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Certified Correctional Health Professional or Certified Corrections Nurse credential preferred.
- Employees shall have at least one year of general experience that demonstrates the following:
- The ability to greet and deal tactfully with the public.
- Capability of understanding and applying written and verbal orders rules and regulations. All personnel shall be literate and be able to interpret printed rules and regulations detailed written orders training instructions and materials and must be able to compose reports.
- Good judgment courage alertness an even temperament and render satisfactory performance through knowledge of his/her position responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain poise and self-control during situations that involve mental stress such as fires explosions civil disturbances and building evacuations.

Physical Requirements:
- This position is considered hazardous duty.
- Required to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 5 minutes and maintain balance.
- Required to jog/fast walk up to mile.
- Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds.
- Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.
- Must have the ability to assist sick injured or aging patients or staff exiting the building (may require lifting dragging wheeling or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self).
- Must be able to see hear and smell with aids if necessary.
- Must be able to lift push or carry 30 pounds.
- Must perform the duties of my job in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitations.
- Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
- Average manual dexterity for computer operation.
- Phone or computer use for extended periods of time.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Must maintain current/physical residency in the continental U.S.
- Pass a medical examination conducted by a licensed physician within 30 days prior to initial assignment.
- Be a U.S. citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the U.S. for permanent residence.
- Have resided in the U.S. for the last five years (unless abroad on official U.S. government duty).
- Successfully engage in and complete a thorough Background Investigation.
- Poses or have ability to obtain required security clearances.
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
Additional Information :
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants background experience skills internal equity and alignment with geographical market data.
Compensation: Min: $23/hr Max: $35/hr
