We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Clinical Skills and Coordinator to join our medical education team. In this role you will teach clinical skills and simulation sessions within your area of expertise and take the lead in coordinating the clinical skills and simulation program ensuring it aligns with the MD Programs learning outcomes.
You will bring clinical experience along with a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of simulation-based education. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential as is a commitment to delivering high-quality student-cantered learning.

Key responsibilities will include:
Teaching: Plan develop coordinate and teach into a comprehensive Clinical Skills and Simulation program aligned with the MD Programs learning outcomes and tailored to the rural and regional context of the Toowoomba RCU. This includes managing simulation environments equipment resources and supporting student assessment and academic guidance.
Lead and support program delivery by preparing simulation resources coordinating facilitators and sessions supervising staff and building strong partnerships with local clinicians to enhance teaching quality and community engagement.
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning: Engage in scholarly and collaborative activities to enhance teaching practice maintain academic excellence and contribute to the research capacity of the Regional Clinical Unit and Rural Clinical School through partnerships with colleagues clinicians and external stakeholders.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Pursue scholarship in clinical skills and simulation education staying current in the discipline enhancing teaching practices and contributing to the ongoing improvement of curricula and learning resources.
Provide effective staff leadership and supervision including professional development performance management and conflict resolution in line with University policies and procedures.

Applicants should possess a PhD or equivalent in the relevant discipline area together with current AHPRA registration or ability to register with AHPRA.
Experience and emerging profile of providing leadership in a clinical and/or educational role.
Experience and developing record of supervising or mentoring staff.
Expertise in using appropriate simulation techniques for clinical skills training. These techniques can include screen-based simulation virtual reality patient simulators part-task trainers and simulated patients.
High level communication and interpersonal skills for working with students colleagues and the wider community.
Demonstrate competency in risk management.
Current or recent clinical experience.
A commitment to and an understanding of the issues surrounding living and working in a rural and/or regional area
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks including right to work in Australia criminal check education check AHPRA registration mandatory immunisations.
