We are seekingan ESG Research Analyst to join our Norm-Based Research team in Stockholm. Our new team member will predominantly assess corporate controversies concerning global norms on business malpractice while also contributing to our environmental protection human rights and labour standards analyses.
The Norm-Based Research teams analyses assist investors in making decisions regarding companies alleged involvement in practices that are in conflict with international standards and guidelines as recognized in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. The team is based in Manila (Philippines) Mumbai (India) and Stockholm (Sweden).
The successful candidate will be trained to work both independently and collaboratively with the team across different locations conducting research on companies relevant business activities and corporate controversies. Our new colleague will work with the team to draft research reports on these companies and contribute to the maintenance of high-quality ESG analyses. They will focus primarily on corporate controversies relating to alleged violations of global norms on business malpractice as well as participate to similar assessments on human rights. Key capabilities required for the role include strong analytical writing and communication skills as well as a keen eye for detail and a well-organized approach to independent and collaborative work in a team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct desk research into alleged corporate involvement in activities or practices that may be in conflict with established international standards and guidelines
Review information presented by and engaging in dialogue with stakeholders and companies
Write research reports on companies activities connected to violations of international norms
Participate in the research peer review process
Participate in and contribute to team processes focused on strengthening our ESG product offering
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor level degree or higher. Postgraduate degree in following fields is an asset: law international relations business
An interest in corporate controversies and international standards and guidelines for responsible business conduct. Previous experience or education in these areas is desirable but not required
Fluency in English. Additional languages are an asset
Solid writing and research skills including the ability to produce deadline-driven basic and advanced analyses
Broad interest in business malpractice in particular corruption
Interest in ESG responsible investment and sustainability is desirable
Personal skills:
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical and thorough approach to the task at hand
Ability to work towards deadlines manage tasks and prioritize
Proactive attitude with ability to motivate and maintain a positive and collaborative working environment
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work both independently and as a member of an international team
