Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) provides the educational outreach functions for Cornell Universitys role as New York States Land Grant University. Programmatically Cornell Cooperative Extension connects the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) and the College of Human Ecology (CHE) with 55 off-campus Associations Integrated Pest Management New York State Sea Grant Area Specialists and CCE New York City.

What You Will Do

You will assist in providing regional immunization education outreach across New York State with a strategic focus on vaccine hesitancy as documented in the immunization data. Additionally you will support planning scheduling coordinating and executing logistical arrangements for vaccination education events retreats and trainings. Other duties include:

  • Document and evaluate program outputs and impacts and complete reporting requirements.

  • Assist with the development of standard operating procedures to streamline activities across the program.

  • Collaborate with other organizations and individuals to develop new informational resources for beginning vaccination education.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of immunization community partnerships at community regional or state levels.

  • Collaborate to collect and create web content outreach materials and update event postings.

  • Participate in program staff meetings and other vaccination education events when necessary.

  • Assist in creating and maintaining program and project calendars.

What We Need

We are looking for a talented individual who excels at building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders. We need someone who appreciates immunization education. Additionally we need someone who has the following:

  • Associates degree and 2 years of experience in providing administrative support or the equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. email calendar Word and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities and tasks while meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills including writing; accuracy in spelling grammar proofreading and attention to detail required.

  • Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with audiences and partners.

  • Must be able to work freely while collaborating with an overall team to foster a respectful work environment.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Must be flexible and receptive to new ideas and approaches.

  • Knowledge of balancing conflicting priorities making informed choices and using sound judgment to complete urgent tasks.

  • Experience that demonstrates creativity reasoning and solution-finding techniques.

  • Ability to work well and establish effective working relationships with a wide variety of faculty staff and program participants while creating a high-quality and respectful work environment.

  • Will be expected to work flexible hours occasional evenings and weekends as job functions require

  • Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the position and have reliable transportation as well as have and maintain a valid and unrestricted New York State drivers license and be cleared to drive for university business.

  • Must exercise sound and ethical judgment when acting on behalf of the University.

  • Experience working directly with people from various socioeconomic backgrounds.

If you possess these experiences and skills this may be the role for you! There are a few other qualifications that we would view as incredibly helpful in this role including:

  • Bachelors Degree in Public Health Social Sciences or other Human Services background.

This is a one-year (39 hours/week) appointment with possible extension depending on funding and performance.

There is the opportunity to work remotely within New York State one day a week; an on-site presence in Ithaca New York is required three days a week.
