Description

The QA Representative supports the Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining and enforcing the companys quality management system (QMS) in accordance with FAA Part 145 and EASA regulations AS9100/ISO 9001 standards and internal procedures. This role is responsible for key QA functions including calibration control tooling oversight auditing training documentation and oversight of approved vendor compliance. The QA Representative ensures quality standards are met throughout the MRO process for landing gear and ATA 32 components and supports a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.


Location: The right candidate for this role must be residing in South Florida as the position is fully onsite.


Key Responsibilities:


Calibration & Tooling:

  • Manage the calibration program for all inspection test and measuring equipment (ITME) ensuring all tools are calibrated on schedule and records are up to date.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external calibration vendors.
  • Research develop and draft special tooling requirements equivalencies and alternative methods of compliance.
  • Inspect incoming tools and gauges and ensure compliance before use in production.
  • Maintain the LGT Tool Control program records and identification of all company tooling
  • Aid in the purchase and procurement of special tooling calibrated tooling and other required shop tooling as needed.

Auditing & Compliance:

  • Conduct and document internal audits across various departments to assess compliance with FAA AS9100/ISO 9001 and company standards.
  • Assist in preparing for and supporting external audits by customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in corrective action and preventive action (CAPA) processes and track resolution effectiveness.
  • Assist in auditing and approving outside repair vendors; maintain and update the approved vendor list and associated quality documentation and certifications.

Training & Records:

  • Maintain and update employee training records to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating developing and administering training sessions related to quality standards inspection procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with QA and department leaders to ensure training is current effective and well-documented.

Quality System Support:

  • Assist with the review creation and revision of SOPs quality procedures and inspection documentation.
  • Help investigate nonconformances and document findings and follow-ups.
  • Help maintain the Scrap Material Program and ensure accountability of mutilated parts components and accessories
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and cross-functional quality meetings.

General:

  • Support day-to-day QA operations and provide cross-functional assistance as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the QA Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree in aviation maintenance quality or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance calibration or auditing within an aerospace MRO or manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of FAA Part 145 AS9100/ISO 9001 standards and calibration/auditing requirements.
  • Familiarity with outside vendor audits and maintaining approved supplier records.
  • Strong attention to detail organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with quality management systems (QMS) and ERP software preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand walk and move about shop and warehouse areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and use ladders or tools to access equipment.
  • Occasional use of hand tools calipers micrometers and inspection equipment.
