Job Overview:
The City of Falls Church is recruiting for a full-time Videographer. The selected individual will work for the Falls Church Community Television (FCCTV) in the Office of Communications (OCOM) and reports to the Television Station Manager. The Videographer works in the Citys state of the art studio located in Meridian High School which is located next to the West Falls Church Metro Station Route 7 I-66 and 495.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Produce shoot edit and deliver high-quality videos for the city government school district and FCCTV station as requested;
Operate and maintain the studio video equipment ensuring its proper functionality;
Maintain inventory and reservation system including ensuring that equipment is in working order before and after an item is borrowed and returned;
Assist high school students and public access producers with troubleshooting software and equipment;
Accommodate studio set up for high school students and public access productions;
Maintain digital video archive of government productions;
With the Station Manager maintain social media strategy for increasing awareness of FCCTV;
On a weekly basis import edit and upload public meetings to the stations broadcast server YouTube page and Granicus server;
Coordinate with other departments administration staff and city/school/public access leadership to offer services and develop communication strategies;
Collaborate with the Television Station Manager to maintain the content strategy for increasing The City of Falls Church Falls Church City Public Schools and FCCTVs awareness and reputation.
Look for opportunities to promote the stations activities and goals on a daily basis;
Live switch events or meetings as needed
Administrative duties as assigned;
Qualifications:
Knowledge of /experience with video recording.
Knowledge of /experience with video editing. Experience with Adobe Premiere preferred.
Knowledge of both PC and Mac software
Ability to work independently
Willingness to learn
High school diploma or equivalent
Hours: This is a full-time position which works generally within a Monday through Friday schedule on a forty-hour a week schedule. Shooting live events or meetings does occur on some evenings weekends annually on Memorial Day and some years on Veterans Day. Schedule specifics will be discussed in screening interviews.
