Director Ads and Brands Communications
Roblox seeks a highly motivated and strategic Director Ads & Brands Communications to join our team. This role will position Roblox as a must-have marketing channel for brands targeting Gen Z and Gen Alpha. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator possess excellent judgment understand the evolving advertising and media landscape and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with Ads & Brands leadership and cross-functional teams to craft compelling narratives around our unique advertising products emphasizing our scale and programmatic tools.
The role is based in our San Mateo CA office from Tuesday-Thursday (remote Monday and Friday)
You Will:
- Develop and implement a robust communications strategy to position Roblox as a must-have advertising platform for brands targeting Gen Z and Gen Alpha.
- Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with key media industry analysts and influencers in the advertising marketing and technology sectors.
- Lead proactive and reactive communications efforts around brand safety and other sensitive issues.
- Partner closely with the Ads & Brands leadership team to translate business objectives into impactful communications strategies and compelling stories.
- Develop thought leadership platforms and content (e.g. white papers presentations speaking opportunities at major conferences) that reinforce Robloxs leadership in the immersive advertising space.
- Showcase partner success stories at scale demonstrating the measurable impact of programmatic tools and immersive media formats.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with legal public policy product and other communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment.
- Manage external PR agencies and vendors as needed to support communications initiatives.
You Have:
- 15 years of experience in communications with a significant focus on B2B marketing and/or advertising technology.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic communications plans that drive business outcomes.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear concise and compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to craft impactful press releases talking points presentations and thought leadership content.
- Experience in crisis communications and issues management particularly in a fast-paced high-growth environment.
- Strong media relations skills with a track record of successfully securing high-impact coverage.
- Deep understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem including programmatic advertising privacy/regulation media buying and measurement.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic rapidly evolving environment managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
