In this position...
Develop and refine product ideas into tangible prototypes bridging the gap between conceptual design and functional reality.

What youll do...

Customer Centricity:

Understanding customer needs usage and ergonomics

Conceptual Design & Ideation:

Working with design teams to translate abstract ideas into concrete concepts and preliminary designs.

Rapid Prototyping:

Creating functional prototypes using various methods like 3D printing CAD modeling robotics and other rapid prototyping techniques.

Testing & Iteration:

Evaluating the functionality usability and performance of prototypes identifying areas for improvement and iterating on designs based on stakeholder and customer feedback.

Technical Problem-Solving:

Troubleshooting technical challenges during the prototyping process finding solutions to integrate various components and ensuring the prototype meets design and functional requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

Engineering Fundamentals:A strong understanding of engineering principles particularly in mechanical or automotive engineering.

Technical Proficiency:Experience in requirements development and transitioning ideas from sketches to reality

Automotive Experience:Experience in the automotive industry

Prototyping Experience:Hands-on experience in designing prototyping and testing mechanical and electromechanical systems.

3D Modeling Proficiency:Expertise in 3D CAD software with experience in tools like Catia or 3D Experience.

Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical collaboration.

Analytical Skills:Strong analytical abilities to evaluate designs and prototypes.

Design Thinking:Ability to apply design thinking principles to develop innovative solutions and iterate on designs.

Problem-Solving:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges during the prototyping process.

Adaptability:

Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and learn new skills.

This role requires strong technical skills creativity and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.

Position Qualifications and Key Capabilities

• Bachelors in Engineering or equivalent a minimum requirement
• 5 years of deep experience in electro-mechanical prototyping techniques
• Familiarity with Human Centered Design and demonstrated passion for the customer
• Strategic Thinker
• Fast Learner; adapts easily
• Works well under pressure
• Strong desire to deliver results in a fast-paced environment; work with all employee levels from technical personnel to Ford Senior Management.
