The Colorist II Color Formulating position is responsible for creating color match formulas and contributing to color development within the General Industrial Color Lab.
This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Companys applicable plans.

Understands color science principles and applies them to create color match formulas and contribute to color development work
High standard level in creating and matching color formulas both solid and effect colors.
Optimizes color formulas for quality and cost
Accountable for contributing color solutions at industry professional level to projects of high level complexity including tri-coats pearls and metallics.
Knows operates and selects best suitable instrument / software choice for intended purpose.
Capable of complex software manipulations
Interprets color data and draws conclusions. Writes and issues technical reports of medium complexity
Functions under low to moderate level supervision
Occasional travel for color support and customer visits
External customer visits with field / sales personnel either at the customers site or at Sherwin Williams.
Acts as knowledge resource within technical. Trains others.
Experience leading small teams and/or coaching others and member of interdisciplinary project teams.
Communicates with Color and R&D organization within division
Establish a timeline by required due date
Complies with and displays knowledge of all safety and security regulations and maintain a clean work area
BASIC QUALIFICATION:
Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
Must be at least 18 years of age
Degree in Color Science plus 3 years of color match competency defined as: Effect Colors formula development and styling proposals including special optical effects
or -
HS Diploma plus 12 years of relevant industry experience as defined as Paint Coatings Surface preparations in a technical role 8 years of those in Color development and color matching defined as above
Computer knowledge for basic inputting communication and data analysis.
Proficient in MS Office
Preferred:
Quality Management Systems
Color theory ACS Color training; Color / Colorants technology high performance pigments
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 5%
