Job Description
About the role:
At NEXT we have a great opportunity for a Visual & Creative Merchandiser to join our Retail Marketing team based at our Head Office in Leicestershire. As a Visual & Creative Merchandiser you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a visually inspiring shopping environment for the NEXT customer focusing specifically on HOME. You will help to create Head Office VM Guidelines to a high level whilst supporting & developing store teams along the way. Please note this is a 12 month temporary position.
You will have a creative eye and the ability to communicate effectively with a passion and genuine interest in Visual Merchandising. Retail VM experience is essential.
Main Tasks:
Managing the product layouts
- Preplanning and implementing visual merchandising phase changes inline with the mockshop critical path
- Communicating with the Home product team throughout the layouts
- Creative input into the layouts and display equipment
- Research and feedback ideas to enhance the layout through merchandising and equipment
- Working on projects to move the Home department forward
- Store opening support
Producing the Visual Merchandise Guidelines
- Coordination of the visual merchandise guideline packs for each phase
- Communicating and writing memos for stores
- Point of contact for product teams and stores queries
- Creating a relationship and working with the Home Product team
About you:
- Have excellent planning and time management skills
- Have personal drive motivation and resilience
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Be able to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
- Be flexible to travel / stay away for short periods and work additional hours if necessary
- Have experience working with Home products (desirable but not essential)
- Have Visual Merchandising experience in a Retail environment
